Philadelphia PA – Today, Balanced Veterans Network (BVN) is excited to announce that American filmmaker, veteran, and activist, Steve Ellmore, has joined BVN as our Interim Board Chairman.
After a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Ellmore joined the Fort Meade Public Affairs Office where he managed the installation’s website and social media platforms. After much success utilizing his skills in communications, he was hired by the Pentagon as the second permanent employee for the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) social media pilot program under the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. For a time, he was personally responsible for the social media accounts for the Secretary of Defense, Jim Mattis and the entire DoD.
In 2017 Ellmore became intrigued by the idea of treating PTSD with cannabis and as a suicide survivor, he made it his mission to create the documentary called “Unprescribed” to show the world the consequences of opioid addiction in the veteran community.
“As a longtime supporter of this groundbreaking organization, I am humbled and honored to join BVN’s Board of Directors as the Interim Board Chair, said Steve Ellmore, Interim Chairman of the Board for BVN. “I am excited to be a part of this amazing community and group of people and look forward to working on behalf of those who have served our great country.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Steve join the BVN family and serve as Interim Board Chair,” said Victor Bohm, CEO for BVN. “Steve is a dynamic leader that will bring an impressive range of experiences, talent and skills to the organization and will be an incredible asset to ensure BVN remains at the forefront of veteran’s education, advocacy, and access to alternative therapies.”
