Washington DC – Today, Balanced Veterans Network (BVN) is excited to announce that Victor Bohm has been selected as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer, previously serving BVN as a board member and senior advisor for fundraising initiatives.
We applaud the incredible work and success of Jen Baxter, former Executive Director for BVN who has chosen to step down for professional and personal reasons. During her tenure, Jen moved the mission forward in 2023 and brought visionary leadership, compassionate community care, and outstanding membership growth to the organization.
“I am so proud to have served as BVN’s Executive Director for the past year. 2023 was a year of significant growth and improvement throughout the organization. We accomplished things never done before, and have a lot to show for the hard work the team put in. I am looking forward to staying connected to the BVN community and supporting the org as much as possible.” said Jen Baxter, former Executive Director for BVN. “I am excited for this organization to be taken to the next level and have the utmost confidence that this leadership will do that and continue to bring as many resources as possible to the veteran community.
“I am extremely honored to take the helm at such an impactful organization and at such a critical time in the organization’s history,” said Bohm. “Finding and creating balance has never been more important than it is now for veterans and their families. I look forward to ensuring that the veteran community continues to have the information, education and access to as many options and alternative therapies available so they can lead happy and healthy lives.”
“From my very first conversation with Victor, I knew that he would bring wonderful new opportunities and energy to BVN.” said Dr. Lynn Bornfriend, Board Director for BVN. “His clear understanding of the financial realities of the nonprofit world, combined with his experience as a veteran, place him in a unique position to move this organization forward. He not only talks the talk, but walks the walk, and is a natural ambassador to the mission of BVN. I believe he will enable this impactful organization to deliver its unique services to a larger number of veterans, which is urgently needed.”
Victor Bohm is a veteran advocate with close to a decade of experience advocating for veterans, their families, survivors, and caregivers with lobbying, coalition and relationship-building with community members, partners, and elected leaders. He has an extensive background in communications and fundraising.
Victor served in the US Air Force and used his GI Bill to gain B.A. in Political Science and an M.S. in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University.
