1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using balancedveterans.org (the “Website”) and the associated community groups, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately cease use of the Website.

2. Eligibility & Membership

Use of this Website is intended for veterans, active-duty service members, and their authorized supporters. By joining, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your login credentials. BVN reserves the right to revoke membership at any time for any reason.

3. No Medical Advice

The content provided on this Website—including text, graphics, images, and information shared by members—is for educational and peer-support purposes only.

• BVN is not a medical provider. * Nothing on this site should be construed as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Always seek the advice of a physician or qualified health provider before changing your healthcare protocol, especially regarding the use of natural medicines or the cessation of prescribed pharmaceuticals.

4. User-Generated Content & Limitation of Liability

Our community groups are a space for open dialogue. However:

• Non-Endorsement: Content posted by members represents the opinions of the individual author and does not represent the views, positions, or endorsements of Balanced Veterans Network.
• No Responsibility: BVN is not responsible for the accuracy, safety, or legality of any content posted by users.
• Monitoring: While we reserve the right to monitor or remove content that violates these terms, we are under no obligation to do so and assume no liability for content staying on or being removed from the site.

5. Prohibited Conduct

As a member of this “digital fire team,” you agree to the following:

• Illegal Acts: You will not use this Website for any illegal purposes, including the sale, distribution, or solicitation of controlled substances.
• Kindness & Respect: You will treat all members with dignity. Harassment, “flaming,” discrimination, or hate speech will result in an immediate and permanent ban.
• Privacy: You will respect the “Safe Space” of our groups. You agree not to share, screenshot, or distribute the personal stories or private information of other members outside of this Website.
• Spam: You will not use the platform for unauthorized commercial solicitation or “spamming.”

6. Use of Natural Medicines

BVN provides a forum for the discussion of natural medicines (e.g., cannabis, entheogens).

• Members must comply with their local, state, and federal laws.
• The discussion of these substances is for harm reduction and integration purposes only. * BVN does not facilitate the sale of any substances.

7. Intellectual Property

The BVN logo, branding, and original content produced by BVN staff are the property of Balanced Veterans Network. You may not use our intellectual property for commercial purposes without express written consent.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Balanced Veterans Network, its directors, officers, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from your use of the Website or your violation of these Terms.

9. Modification of Terms

BVN reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify members of significant changes via the email address associated with your account. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [Insert State, e.g., Pennsylvania], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Privacy Policy

How do I join the Balanced Veterans Network?

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to https://www.balancedveterans.org, Balanced Veterans Network (BVN) and the BVN App (available on iOS and Android) and governs data collection and usage. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Balanced Veterans Network include https://www.balancedveterans.org and BVN. The BVN website is a social network, educational, and nonprofit site. By using the BVN website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your Personal Information

In order to better provide you with products and services offered, BVN may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:

 –          First and Last Name

 –          Mailing Address

 –          E-mail Address

 –          Phone Number

 –          Military Branch

If you purchase BVN’s products and services, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the purchase transaction.

BVN may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your:

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through BVN’s public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services. These may include: (a) registering for an account; (b) entering a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by us or one of our partners; (c) signing up for special offers from selected third parties; (d) sending us an email message; (e) submitting your credit card or other payment information when ordering and purchasing products and services. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.

BVN collects and uses your personal information to operate and deliver the services you have requested.

BVN may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from BVN and its affiliates.

BVN does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

BVN may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within BVN, in order to determine what BVN services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within BVN to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

Right to Deletion

Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:

•     Delete your personal information from our records; and

•     Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records.

Please note that we may not be able to comply with requests to delete your personal information if it is necessary to:

•     Engage in public or peer-reviewed scientific, historical, or statistical research in the public interest that adheres to all other applicable ethics and privacy laws, when our deletion of the information is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of such research, provided we have obtained your informed consent;

•     Enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us;

•     Comply with an existing legal obligation; or

•     Otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided the information.

Children Under Thirteen

BVN does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

E-mail Communications

From time to time, BVN may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. In order to improve our Services, we may receive a notification when you open an email from BVN or click on a link therein.

Changes to this Statement

BVN reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our website, and/or by updating any privacy information.
